A Bit About Me
I'm a watercolor illustrator, visual strategist, graphic designer, and, to encompass it all, your brand experience partner. I'm a solo creative based in the Pacific Northwest, and the person behind Opal Essence Finery.
After years of working in fast-paced corporate design, local print shops, and various contract positions, I found myself craving something deeper and more meaningful than high-speed digital turnover. The industry kept accelerating — AI integration, maximized productivity, faster and faster turnaround — and somewhere along the way, I lost the thing I loved most about this work.
I missed the tactile connection to art — the weight of rich paper, the texture of watercolor, the beauty of holding a finished piece in your hands and watching everything come together like a 10,000-piece puzzle. So I stepped away from the corporate rush and founded my studio on a Slow Art philosophy.
I believe extraordinary work takes time, intention, and genuine human connection. Rather than rushing through tight turnarounds, I prioritize craftsmanship, storytelling, meticulous attention to detail, and hands-on production management from first sketch to final delivery — because a brand isn't something to rush. It's something to build.
