Klickitat Canyon Winery
Klickitat Canyon Winery produces organic, handcrafted wines with a deep connection to natural, sustainable winemaking. Their organic blackberry wine needed a visual identity that truly reflected the quality of the fruit and the artisanal nature of their process.
The goal was to reimagine the Blackberry Wine label with original hand-painted artwork and elevated typography, while creating a cohesive Berry Wine Guide to highlight their full collection of fruit wines.

The Challenge
The existing packaging needed a fresh, sophisticated look to stand out on crowded retail shelves and in the tasting room.
The main objectives were:
Capture the Organic Essence:
Translate the natural, handcrafted feel of organic fruit into rich visual art.
Elevate Print Quality & Layout:
Restructure the label typography and regulatory info into a clean, balanced, and production-ready layout.
Unify the Fruit Wine Family:
Design a two sided tasting guide that seamlessly connected the Blackberry wine to its companion flavors and described KCW's core values behind their business and family farm.
Painting Blackberries

Unedited finished painting in my sketchbook

Finished painting with frame removed, before tone adjustments
To give the bottle an authentic feel, I created a custom watercolor illustration of ripe blackberries on a branch. The organic depth and vibrant pigments of the painting brought texture and warmth to the bottle and reflects the natural and sustainable practice of the winery.
Above is the unedited painting from my sketchbook. Originally, I wanted to hand draw in the frame of the design, but realized later that the frame I drew didn't work well. The second image shows the painting after I edited out the frame. I used this image to apply to the label after tone adjustments and background removal.
Designing the Wine Label
Using my original painting as the focal point, I redesigned the full label by using serif typography to create an inviting, premium presentation intertwined with the blackberry illustration to make it one cohesive piece.
I carefully balanced the contrast of the illustration and the margins to ensure flawless execution in print and to stand out on the bottle and on the shelves.
Below, I've included a before/after, the full label and few mockups to showcase the finished bottle!

Wine Guide Flat Card
To enhance the customer experience at events and tasting rooms, I created a complementary printed guide showcasing four of Klickitat Canyon’s signature fruit wines: Raspberry, Blueberry, Blackberry, and Peach, with Blackberry being the star. It's designed to guide customers through the unique flavor profiles of each varietal, while reinforcing brand recognition. On the back is the winery's family background and core message of their business. Below, I've included the label design and a few mockups.
